Learn Through Film: Human Rights in Scotland

A  new book and DVD package marks a first for Scotland, as a documentary film based education package looking at human rights in that country.

It uses creative documentary film as a means to teach school pupils,  young people, community workers and other interested groups or individuals how to understand Human Rights in Scotland.

The package is based on ten new multimedia workshops created in collaboration with the Scottish Human Rights Commission, Choose Life, and The University of Edinburgh, with each based around short documentary films by Scottish artists and filmmakers as diverse as Douglas Gordon, Tilda Swinton and Irvine Welsh .

The package will be released in September with workshops for Glasgow secondary school teachers to be held in October in collaboration with GFT.

You can read more about the project as well as pre-order a copy on the Learning Through Film website
